Ray was born into a working class family close to Liverpool, England growing up in the baby-boom era of the Beatles and Merseybeat music. He arrived in Canada at age 23 with no job, no connections and no real prospects but what he did have was a desire for a better life. His keynotes describe his journey from the trials of employment to the triumphs of self-employment and how one ordinary guy was able to find his way to greater success and higher levels of happiness.

His experience includes sales and sales managment, life insurance broker, reinsurance executive and owner of several small businesses. Some were huge successes. Some were crash and burn failures. As Ray puts it: "In the race for success sometimes you get the GOLD, sometimes you get a great “learning experience”!

What's different about Ray is his notion that there is no such thing as an "ordinary" person. He inspires people to quit "settling" for ordinary and go all out for greatness.
